Welcome to The Laundry Lady. By booking a service, placing an order, or using our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before scheduling your laundry service.

 

1. Introduction

 

The Laundry Lady is a family-run,  wash and fold laundry service based in Meriden, CT. We provide convenient pickup, professional cleaning, and delivery of everyday laundry items.

 

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our services, including online booking, pickup and delivery, and any related communication with us.

 

2. Services Provided

 

We currently offer:

 

- Wash & Fold Laundry: Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and bagging of everyday clothing, towels, and common household linens.  

- Pickup & Delivery: Door‑to‑door pickup and delivery of your laundry within our service area.  

- Rush / 24‑Hour Service (when available): Expedited turnaround for an additional rush fee.

 

We may adjust, add, or remove services over time. Any updates will be reflected on our website.

 

3. Orders, Bags & Minimums

 

- Minimum Order: Each order is subject to a **$35 minimum charge per order**, regardless of the number of bags you send in, unless otherwise clearly stated in a promotion.  

- Bag Size & Quantity: Your final price depends on how much laundry you send. Larger or multiple bags may result in higher charges, typically in multiples of the minimum. One bag is considered a standard 13 gallon trash bag size tied, with no rips, tears or overstuffing. 

- Accepted Items: We primarily handle everyday clothing, towels, and common household linens. If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, please contact us before including it in your order.  

- Heavily Soiled or Specialty Items: Items that are heavily soiled, stained, or require special handling may incur additional fees or may be declined at our discretion.

4. Pickup & Delivery Terms

 

- Service Area: We are based in Meriden, CT and serve Meriden and nearby towns, as listed on our site and booking flow.  

- Free Pickup & Delivery: Pickup and delivery are free within our defined service area. If you are outside this area, we may not be able to serve you or may agree on special arrangements separately.  

- Access & Drop‑Off: You are responsible for ensuring that your laundry is left in a safe, accessible location at the scheduled pickup time (for example, outside your door or another agreed‑upon spot).  

- Missed Pickups: If laundry is not available at the scheduled time and location, we may mark the pickup as missed and may charge a missed pickup fee, or require rescheduling at a later time.  

- Delivery Attempts: We will deliver your cleaned laundry to the location agreed during booking. If we are unable to complete delivery due to access issues or incorrect information, we will attempt to contact you to reschedule.

 

5. Pricing, Fees & Payments

 

- Current Pricing: Our current standard pricing, including minimum order amount, rush fees, and any listed bundles, is available on our **Pricing** page.  

- Changes to Pricing: Prices may change over time. Any changes will be reflected on the site and apply to orders placed after the updated pricing is posted.  

- Additional Fees: Extra fees may apply for:

  - Heavily soiled items  

  - Delicate or special‑care fabrics  

  - Special handling requests  

  - Rush / 24‑hour service  

- Payment: Payment is typically collected through our online booking system or as otherwise indicated during checkout. By placing an order, you authorize us to charge you for the services and applicable fees associated with your order.

 

6. Rush / 24‑Hour Service

 

- Rush Fee:When available, rush service is offered for an additional fee on top of your regular charges.  

- Availability: Rush or 24‑hour turnaround is subject to our schedule and capacity. It may not be available on certain days or for certain order sizes.  

- Scope: Rush service applies to the turnaround time, not to pickup availability. You are responsible for selecting an eligible pickup time when booking.

 

7. Laundry Care, Damage & Limitations of Liability

 

We handle all laundry with care and aim to follow reasonable industry practices. However, some wear, fading, or minor shrinkage can occur as part of normal laundering.

 

- Care Instructions: All laundry will be washed on a standard cold cycle and tumble dried on medium heat unless otherwise specified by the customer. All special requests need to be approved.  

- Pre‑Existing Conditions: We are not responsible for damage caused by pre‑existing conditions, such as:

  - Loose seams, buttons, zippers, or trims  

  - Weak or worn fabrics  

  - Pre‑existing stains, discoloration, or fading  

- Lost or Damaged Items: In the rare event an item is lost or damaged, please contact us promptly. We may request details about the item and the situation. Any resolution or goodwill gesture will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and may be limited to a reasonable amount based on the age, condition, and estimated value of the item.  

- Non‑Removable Stains: We do not guarantee removal of all stains. Some stains may be set or permanent and may not respond to cleaning.

 

8. Customer Responsibilities

 

By using our services, you agree to:

 

- Provide accurate contact, address, and scheduling information.  

- Place only items that are safe and appropriate to launder in a standard household washer and dryer.  

- Check all pockets and remove items such as money, electronics, keys, pens, or sharp objects before sending laundry.  

- Avoid including hazardous, flammable, or contaminated items (e.g., items soiled with chemicals, fuels, or bodily fluids beyond normal everyday use).  

- Avoid including items covered in excessive pet hair.

- Notify us of any special care instructions for specific items when placing your order.

 

We are not responsible for damage caused by items left in pockets or included with your laundry (such as pens, lip balm, or sharp objects).

 

9. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds

 

- Cancellations: If you need to cancel your order, please do so as early as possible before your scheduled pickup time.  

- Rescheduling: You may request to reschedule your pickup, subject to our availability.  

- Late Cancellations / Missed Pickups: Late cancellations or missed pickups may be subject to a fee, especially if we have already dispatched a driver to your location.  

- Refunds: Because our service is performed on your individual items, refunds are generally not provided once your laundry has been processed. If you have concerns about your order, please contact us so we can review your situation and work with you on a fair resolution.

 

10. Privacy & Communications

 

- Personal Information: We collect basic contact and order information to provide our services, communicate about your pickups and deliveries, and improve your experience.  

- Communications: By booking with us, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text, or email about your orders, scheduling, and important updates related to our services.  

- Third‑Party Services: If we use third‑party tools (such as online booking or payment providers), your information may also be processed according to their terms and practices.

 

 11. Changes to These Terms

 

We may update or modify these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
